THINGS TO DO

One of the things we love most about Ocean Reef is that a day can be as full—or as empty—as you want it to be. There is always something happening, and the Club publishes a daily schedule of activities and events. You can plan a tee time or fishing trip before you arrive, or simply wake up, see what sounds good and let the day unfold.

Our advice: leave yourself some free time. Some of the best days at the Reef are the ones you never planned.

BEACH AND POOL

Buccaneer Island is the center of daytime life at the Reef and one of our family’s favorite placesto spend an afternoon.Claim a lounger, swim in the lagoon or pools, take a paddleboard out, order lunch in yourswimsuit and stay as long as you like. There are often activities happening around the beach,particularly for children, but doing absolutely nothing cocktail in hand is also highly encouraged.This is also one of the places you are most likely to run into other people from the weekend.

ON THE WATER

You are in the Florida Keys, so getting out on the water should be high on your list. Charter a boat for a day of fishing, head out snorkeling or diving, explore the mangroves by kayak, or simply spend a few hours cruising the Keys. The waters surrounding Ocean Reef offer everything from quiet mangroves and coral reefs to serious offshore fishing.

  • Join one of the daily organized snorkeling trips or charter your own boat for a cruise. Check out the Dive Shop at Ocean Reef for more information.

  • Explore the wildlife in the mangroves with a guide. Offered Saturday and Sunday mornings. Call 305.367.2611 to reserve a spot.

GOOD TO KNOW

Kayaks, paddleboards and sailboats are available to rent at Buccaneer Island without advance reservations. If the mood strikes, just head to the beach and get out on the water.

GOLF

Ocean Reef has two 18-hole championship golf courses, the Hammock Course and the DolphinCourse, both just a golf-cart ride away from your lodgings.If golf is part of your ideal getaway, this is an excellent weekend to bring your clubs. They also have clubs available to rent. Play a full round, head to the driving range or arrange a game with friends who are also here for the weekend.

TENNIS, PICKLEBALL
& PADEL

If you would rather pick up a racquet than a golf club, Ocean Reef has 9 tennis courts, 9 pickleball courts, and 2 Padel courts with group play, clinics and lessons available. Join a clinic, open play, or gather a few friends and organize a game of your own.

RELAX & RECHARGE

Doing less is also an activity at Ocean Reef. Book a massage or facial at The Spa, fit in a workout, spend the afternoon with a book by thewater, or stop by the salon before Saturday evening.There is plenty of time during the weekend to disappear for a few hours and recharge before weall get together again
